Questions to discuss

What can Chapter 7 address?

Chapter 7 may discharge many unsecured debts, including qualifying credit card and medical debts. Eligibility and the effect on your property depend on your financial circumstances. Some debts are not discharged.

What happens to collection activity?

Filing a bankruptcy petition generally triggers an automatic stay that pauses many collection actions. Exceptions and limits can apply, including in cases involving prior filings.

What about my home or car?

A discharge does not automatically remove a valid mortgage or car lien. We can review the loan, equity, exemptions, and your goals before you decide how to proceed.
